Suppressed?
Well, I did my civic duty and voted yesterday. The process was agonizing... I went to my assigned polling place, but I was not on their little list. They sent me uptown to the courthouse, where I had to re-register to vote. After waiting for a fucking HOUR to get the form, I got my ballot. I was at the courthouse for approximately an hour and twenty minutes.

When I wasn't napping, I could hear the election officials talking about how they've never seen so many people voting. It certainly is exciting to be a part of this election; it's bound to be one for the history books.

One thing that kind of disgusts me is how many women voted for Hillary simply because she's a she. To me, those people are in the same category as the people who voted for Bush simply because they thought he was a good Christian. There's more that should be considered when choosing the leader of the free world than whether or not the candidate has ovaries.

With so many racist dumb-fucks around here, I'm actually pretty surprised Obama won Montana. Maybe even Montana has made some progress.

So, Barack Obama, you won Montana, and, it appears, the Democratic nomination. I spent a good chunk of my day waiting in line so I could vote for you. Please go forth and prove yourself worthy of all the hope that has been placed in you.

Ya know...I was all about Clinton being a 'politics as usual' agent. But the more I read on Feminist blogs the more angry I am at how *everyone* including Obama has made it an issue that she has Ovaries. I think my original point of "WTF Democratic Party? I thought maybe this time we'd be Cool!" still stands. Clinton as the *FEMALE* candidate is just insulting and Obama...Where is his experience? (like John Edwards for example) Where is his military service? Where is his actual outreach to those women who *do* feel like they don't want to vote for another stuffed pair of pants?

John Edwards was and still is the best choice as far as I'm concerned...yeah he's ANOTHER *white man* but he impressed me way more than either of them. I think I'll vote Green...especially since thanks to the Electoral College my vote is meaningless.

Oh, I'm with you as far as the politics as usual theme goes... I was a Mike Dennis Kucinich/Bill Richardson type of person in the beginning of all this.

Regarding Obama's lack of experience and/or military service: The one thing that gives me a little hope for an Obama presidency is the fact that 76 years ago, another new-comer in the Democratic party with little experience and no real military background was making similar calls for change. He, too, was running at a time when Republican policies had run the country to near ruin, and the American populace was desparate for change. Of course you know, that was Franklin D. Roosevelt, and he pretty much put the Republican party out of business for nearly two decades.

I think that if he can own up to half of his campaign promises, Obama can really do a lot of good for the country. Time will tell, I imagine.
